The grind data is a starting point

Every setting on this site is where to begin, not a guarantee. Grinders vary between units, burrs wear, beans differ, and a number labelled modelled is our derivation rather than a measurement — the editorial standards page explains which is which and how to tell. Adjust to taste, and never use a setting here in a way that contradicts your grinder's own manual, particularly where it warns against grinding below a given point.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is. We work hard at accuracy and publish our corrections, but we make no warranty that everything here is correct or current, and we are not liable for what follows from relying on it — including damage to equipment. If you find a mistake, tell us: "Help us improve" is on every page.

Using what is here

Read it, print a chart, send a link to a friend — that is what it is for. Do not scrape the site wholesale or republish it as your own. Manufacturer manuals hosted here belong to their makers and are provided so you can check us against them; product names and trademarks belong to their owners, and their appearance here is not endorsement in either direction.

What you send us

Corrections, feedback and atlas contributions may be published, edited for length, or acted on without attribution. Send only what you have the right to send, and please cite a source where one exists — an unsourced figure cannot become a cited one here, whoever sends it.

Accounts

An account is optional and exists to save your own recipes. Keep your credentials to yourself. We may close an account that is used to abuse the site or anyone on it.

Changes

These terms change when they need to, and the date at the top changes with them. Ask us anything.
