Breville's Coffee Chart, page 8 of the Smart Grinder Pro instruction book. Read September 07, 2026.

Sage and Breville sell the same grinder under two names, and this is Breville's document for it: espresso 1-30, percolator 31-45, drip filter 46-54 and plunger 55-60 on the 1-60 dial. It is entered here in its own right rather than this page borrowing the Breville page's source.

One of those four bands is not used. Breville's chart puts percolator at 31-45, between espresso and drip filter, which places it at medium-fine and makes it a stovetop pot rather than the coarse brew this site means by the word. Reading it our way would claim one grind size lives at two different clicks on the same dial, so the band is left where the maker drew it and no method is attached to it.

The three that are used are espresso, drip filter, and "plunger" — which is French press, and is the coarsest thing this dial does.

Not directly — every grinder's scale is arbitrary, so a number that works on one model won't match the Sage Smart Grinder Pro. Match the micron range instead, using the chart above.
