Baratza publishes single starting points: espresso 15, AeroPress 22, Hario V60 25, automatic brewer 28, Chemex 30, French press 32.
Four of the six the guide names were wrong here, and espresso was not close — this page said 1-8 where Baratza says 15, so a reader following it ground roughly twice as fine as the maker recommends. Only French press contained the maker's number.
Moka pot and cold brew are dropped: the guide does not name them, and this source class publishes what the maker said rather than what we would guess. Both are modelled instead, and marked as such.
The guide also settles the dial in words, describing "the espresso range (settings 1-20)" and "the filter coffee range (settings 21-40)".
