Checked against
Baratza's Virtuoso+ Operations Manual v1.6, January 2023. Read September 07, 2026.
The manual's "Suggested Setting" row, verbatim: espresso 8, AeroPress 12, Hario V60 15, automatic 18, Chemex 20, French press 28.
That is identical to the Encore's row, and it is not a copy-paste slip on our part — it is the same table Baratza prints across its whole 40-step family. Both PDFs were read rather than one being assumed from the other, because two grinders quietly sharing a source is exactly the kind of thing that should be checked and not inferred.
The same manual settles the dial in words: the settings "go from very coarse (grind setting 40) to very fine (grind setting 1)".
