Volcán–Candela

Volcán and Candela lie on the drier western side of the same mountain, and the difference from Boquete is mostly water. Less mist and more direct sun mean a shorter, more concentrated ripening period and an earlier harvest.

The farms here are on average larger and flatter than Boquete's, and the region gets less attention than it merits — partly because Boquete's Geisha absorbs all of it.

Denser and sweeter than Boquete, with more caramel and stone fruit and a slightly lower-toned acidity. The Geisha grown here is excellent and consistently cheaper than the eastern side's.
