Lâm Đồng

Lâm Đồng sits higher than the rest of the Central Highlands, and it is where Arabica becomes a serious crop in a region otherwise given over to Robusta. The plateau around Đà Lạt is high enough and cool enough for it; the lower districts to the south are Robusta country.

That split is the reason the province is worth reading at district level rather than as one place.

The Arabica is soft and clean — stone fruit and cocoa, closer to a mild washed Central American than to anything else grown in the country.
